Preface
To avoid any unnecessary inconvenience on your part, we recommend that you read the instruction manual carefully before seeking guarantee service. It is advisable that before the client seeks guarantee service, the product and product environment are inspected visually. Furthermore the client may be asked questions and given simple instructions over the phone to help identify the fault.
2-year guarantee (legal guarantee)
ICT Services Ltd., must provide remedies in accordance with Consumer affairs act CAP.378 of 1996,where the lack of conformity becomes apparent to the consumer within two years from the delivery of the goods.
Remedies available to the consumer
ICT Services Ltd. shall provide a remedy to the consumer for any lack of conformity in the goods which existed at the time the goods were delivered by ICT Services Ltd. to the consumer. ICT Services Ltd. will first try to repair the product within a reasonable amount of time. If a repair is not possible the company will replace the item free of charge. If neither repair nor replacement are possible the company may offer a partial refund in proportion to the defect and the value of the product. The consumer is not entitled to have the contract rescinded if the lack of conformity is minor or insignificant.
Notification of the trader
The 2-year guarantee period starts as soon as the consumer receives/collects the goods. In order to benefit from the remedies available, a consumer must notify ICT Services Ltd. of any lack of conformity in writing by registered mail within two months from the date on which the customer detected such lack of conformity.
Other terms and conditions
1. Guarantee services will be provided only if the original invoice or sales receipt (indicating the date of purchase, model name and dealer’s name) is presented with the defective product within the guarantee period. ICT Services Ltd. may refuse free-of-charge guarantee service if these documents are not presented or if they are incomplete or illegible. This Guarantee will not apply if the model name or serial number on the product has been altered, deleted, removed or made illegible.
2. To avoid damage to or loss/erasure of removable data storage media or accessories, you must remove these before submitting your product for guarantee service.
3. This Guarantee does not cover transport costs and risks associated with transport of your product to and from ICT services Ltd. If it is impractical to have the product shipped or made available at company’s premises, a technician may be sent to investigate; however if the fault turns out not to be covered by warranty a minimum service charge of €59.00 including Vat but excluding parts will apply.
4. This guarantee does not cover:
4.1. periodic maintenance and repair or parts replacement due to wear and tear.
4.2. consumables (components that are expected to require periodic replacement during the lifetime of a product such as batteries, print cartridges, styli, bulbs, etc.).
4.3. damage or defects caused by use, operation or treatment of the product inconsistent with normal use.
4.4. damage or changes to the product as a result of :
• misuse, including:
– treatment resulting in physical, cosmetic or surface damage or changes to the product or damage to liquid crystal displays.
– failure to install or use the product for its normal purpose or in accordance with the product’s instructions on installation or use.
– failure to maintain the product in accordance with product’s instructions on proper maintenance.
– installation or use of the product in a manner inconsistent with the technical or safety laws or standards in the country where it is installed or used.
• virus infections or use of the product with software not provided with the product or incorrectly installed software.
• the condition of or defects in systems with which the product is used or incorporated with.
• use of the product with accessories, peripheral equipment and other products of a type, condition and standard other than prescribed by the manufacturer.
• repair or attempted repair by unauthorized personnel.
• adjustments or adaptations without the manufacturer’s prior written consent, including:
– upgrading the product beyond specifications or features described in the instruction manual, or
– modifications to the product to conform it to national or local technical or safety standards in countries other than those for which the product was specifically designed and manufactured.
• neglect.
• Accidents, fire, liquids, chemicals, other substances, flooding, vibrations, excessive heat, improper ventilation, power surges, excess or incorrect supply or input voltage, radiation, electrostatic discharges including lighting, other external forces and impacts.
5. This guarantee covers only hardware components of the product. It does not cover software.
